MARINETTE & MENOMINEE, CO. – The Women’s Giving Circle of Marinette & Menominee Counties, a fund of the M&M Area Community Foundation, is proud to announce the relaunch of the Queen Marinette Award. This prestigious honor recognizes an inspirational woman who is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of women and girls in our counties.
Nominations for the 2025 Queen Marinette Award are now open through March 1, 2025. Community members are encouraged to nominate outstanding women who have demonstrated a commitment to supporting and empowering women and girls in Marinette and Menominee Counties.
About the Queen Marinette Award
Named in honor of Marie Antoinette Chevalier, known as Queen Marinette, this award celebrates the legacy of a remarkable woman who played a pivotal role in the early development of our region. As a respected leader and generous community figure, Queen Marinette’s contributions helped shape the thriving twin cities we know today.
Nomination Criteria
Nominees must:
✅ Live, work, or volunteer in Marinette or Menominee Counties
✅ Serve as a role model for women and girls
✅ Make a significant, positive impact on the community
✅ Be dedicated to helping women and girls achieve their goals
(Members of the Women’s Giving Circle Steering Committee or Grant Committee are not eligible for this award.)
The Queen Marinette Award will be presented at the Women’s Giving Circle Annual Gathering & Grant Ceremony in April 2025.
